Celtic are going to be in the market for a considerable amount of new faces when the current season is over. Brendan Rodgers has made no secret that he thought that the Hoops have not acquired the appropriate quality to replace the stars they lost, let alone add to the squad in the past couple of transfer windows.

We’ve seen the recruitment department undergo a change in the last few months, as both Mark Lawwell and Joe Dudgeon paid the price for the seriously sub-par additions in recent times. Goalkeeper remains a serious issue as Joe Hart will be retiring when the trophies and medals are handed out next month, whilst we need a left-back, striker and another winger, with possibly one or two midfielders for good measure too.

One of the names that has emerged in reports has been Coventry City star, Callum O’Hare. The central midfielder was of course involved in a scintillating game of cup football last week, when his Championship side took on the mighty Manchester United. Despite being 3-0 down at one point in the later stages of the game, O’Hare and his teammates battled back to make it 3-3 in 90 minutes that day.

Unfortunately, Callum did go on to miss a penalty in the shootout, but his quality was clear to see throughout the match.

Now TBR are reporting that Celtic are keen to add the Coventry man to their squad for next season, with the futures of Matt O’Riley and Paulo Bernardo uncertain. O’Riley has been the subject of much interest in the last year or so, meanwhile Bernardo is only on loan to the Scottish outfit and the Bhoys want to negotiate the option-to-buy clause with his parent club Benfica.

With one or potentially two of those names heading for the exit door, Rodgers will want to make sure the midfield area is bolstered in case of such an event coming to pass. A potential bargain on a freedom of contract, it has alerted many clubs to his availability this close season, meaning that Rodgers and the recruitment team will have to move fast to beat the likes of Burnley, Leicester City, Southampton and our rivals across the city too.
