Noah Okafor scored AC Milan’s 51st goal in Serie A this season during the win over Lazio on Friday night, and some data has emerged about the team’s overall conversion rate.

As MilanNews point out, Milan’s league total of 51 goals sits behind only that of Inter (69) and Roma (52), who with the four goals scored against Monza over the weekend have overtaken the Rossoneri in this particular ranking.

Due to the amount of attacking chances they create, Milan should and could have more goals to their credit, but it sometimes happens that the attackers are unable to capitalise on the scoring opportunities that come their way.

According to the data provided by Transfermarkt, Milan actually have one of the highest shooting percentages in Serie A at 10.4%. It perhaps goes without explaining, but that means 10.4% of shots on goal actually become goals.

This puts them among the best in the league given that only Atalanta (10.5%), Inter (11.6%) and Roma (12.2%) are better than Stefano Pioli’s side in this particular area in 2023-24.

As has been spoken about many times, it is the defensive side of things that has let Milan down in the current campaign, as they are a mid-table side when it comes to goals conceded.
