In just a few weeks, Kylian Mbappé will be making his move from Paris Saint-Germain to Real Madrid. However, before his arrival to the Santiago Bernabéu, the Frenchman had one last game with the Parisians.

Paris Saint-Germain defeated Olympique Lyonnais 2-1 in the Coupe de France Final at the Stade Pierre Mauroy on Saturday night. The 25-year-old didn’t score to have that storybook ending to this chapter, but he does get to lift one final trophy with the capital club.

Ousmane Dembélé and Fabián Ruiz scored the victory. Nonetheless, after the match, Mbappé spoke to beIN Sports and reflected on his last game for his hometown club.

“You feel the weight of things a little more,” Mbappé told the outlet (h/t Paris Fans). “You realize that it’s truly over. Before, when I said goodbye to the Parc, there were still things lingering. I was focused on what lay ahead. Now, with PSG, I have nothing left, but I am very happy to have been able to finish with another trophy.

“It truly characterizes what this club is about, a club that has always won trophies and will continue to win trophies, and I am glad to have been part of this story. And to have left my mark on it, I believe.”

Moreover, his soon-to-be former teammates gave Mbappé a proper send-off as he begins a new chapter in the Spanish capital. It’s a bittersweet ending, but it’s time for both parties to go their separate ways this summer, and for PSG, it marks a new era, where for now, there’s no true superstar that many have come used to seeing.
