Tudor responds to Juventus boos after 0-0 Milan stalemate

Despite being unbeaten across the league and Champions League, boos rang out at the Allianz Stadium after the team’s underwhelming performance against Milan on Sunday. 

Tudor, speaking in his post-match press conference, insists that he did not hear, nor was he affected by the boos that were heard inside the stadium. 

“I came back inside immediately,” Tudor told the press after full-time on Sunday. 

Instead, Tudor went on to give a tactical explanation of what he saw on the pitch. 

When asked about Kenan Yildiz playing slightly wider than usual, Tudor said: “We want to swap him and Cambiaso a bit, to leave the one-on-one against Saelemaekers. He and Cambiaso often have neat exchanges between themselves. We did some interesting things over there in the first half, when things were still organised.” 

Tudor did not deny the fact that Yildiz looked tired towards the end of his appearance against Milan. 

“I thought he was tired, as well as Conceicao and David. I didn’t want to give the signal that we wanted to hold back by taking them off, so we brought on two strikers and went to a 3-5-2. In the end, we were better covered and created some chances with crosses and recoveries.”

And, on whether Juventus could play with two strikers up front more in the future, Tudor said: “I’ll think about it, because I have to find out whatever is best for the team, and what works for me. I have to adapt to the players, but I also have to do things that make sense to me. I like coaching, not just changing system.”
