Two Manchester United players are not for sale this summer – Report

The Red Devils are set to undergo changes in their squad in the summer

Over the last few months, Manchester United have experienced an up-and-down campaign that has reflected a lack of stability on and off the pitch. Injuries, questionable tactical decisions and a squad that never quite came together have left the team far from its initial aspirations. Setbacks in Europe and the back-and-forth in the Premier League have already raised serious doubts about the direction of the project. However, their latest defeat in a continental final has not only capped a disappointing season but marked another emotional blow to a squad that is still struggling to find its footing.

The two players that Manchester United are not expected to sell – REPORTS

Brennan Johnson’s decisive first-half goal handed Tottenham their first trophy in 17 years and left Ruben Amorim’s side out of contention for next season’s Champions League. The defeat to Spurs was only the second time in five years that the Red Devils have lost a Europa League final. At the same time, while speculation about sales and rebuilding is multiplying, there are certain players for whom the club does not seem to be willing to listen to offers.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Leny Yoro, one of the most highly rated defensive talents of the moment, is not for sale. The same goes for Amad, who has suffered from physical ups and downs, but has been one of the few with attacking spark, especially under Rúben Amorim at Bilbao.

The club’s decision to protect Yoro and Amad has substance. Yoro, though young, possesses qualities that are in short supply in the team today. His reading of the game, measured aggression and ability to correct others’ mistakes are valuable virtues. To sell him now would be an admission of structural weakness. With Amad, the logic revolves around his recent performance. Despite the injuries, he has shown quality, verve and confidence. In a flat, predictable team, that is in short supply. Letting him go could be another loss of identity at a club that has already given away too many players who then shine elsewhere.

That said, there is also an alternative reading. If United are planning a deep restructuring, perhaps keeping players that have lived through the failed cycle doesn’t make sense. There are times when nipping things in the bud is healthier than trying to salvage what little has worked. Amad, for example, has had moments but has yet to string together consistency. Yoro, as talented as he is, has yet to prove himself in the most demanding contexts. If big offers are on the table, turning them down because of symbolic attachment can be a trap.

Even so, the club need to rebuild itself logically and coherently. If every season the process is restarted from scratch, stability will never come. Betting on young players with room for improvement and a hunger to prove themselves, such as Yoro and Amad, seems more sensible than continuing to sign players whose prime has passed. The key will be to surround them well and give them continuity. It’s not just about retaining, it’s about building around them. And in that, United cannot fail again.
