Udinese have officially completed their purchase of Georgia international defender Saba Goglichidze from Empoli for a reported fee of €4m.
The centre-back can also play as a right-back when required and has three senior caps for his country.
Only celebrating his 21st birthday in June, Goglichidze joined Empoli from Torpedo Kutaisi in January 2024 at a cost of €450,000.
His value has sky-rocketed since then thanks to 33 Serie A appearances and three in the Coppa Italia, where he also contributed one assist from defence.
The agreement is reported to be worth circa €4m and he signed a five-year contract with Udinese that runs to June 2030.
He had previously been linked with summer transfers to the likes of Milan, Juventus and Parma, but Udinese made it stick.
It has been a busy few days for Udinese, who also brought in Polish midfielder Jakub Piotrowski from Ludogorets, striker Luca Kjerrumgaard from Odense BK and Spezia central defender Nicolò Bertola.
