UFC Paris Main Card Preview & Picks

Lightweight bout: Dan Hooker vs. Salahdine Parnasse

New Zealand’s Hooker was paid a lot of money to fly to France and take on hometown hero Parnasse in the main event of UFC Paris, but I don’t see this fight going well for the Kiwi.

Parnasse is one of the top prospects in MMA right now, and I fully expect him to score a highlight-reel knockout win over Hooker to show the UFC fans why he is one of the best lightweights in the world today.

Lightweight bout: Fares Ziam vs. Axel Sola

We have a rare all-France battle between Ziam and Sola in the co-main event. This should be an awesome fight, but with Sola having more momentum coming into this matchup, look for him to edge out a decision win in what could be the “Fight of the Night.”

Pick: Axel Sola via decision

Middleweight bout: Michael Page vs. Nursulton Ruziboev

England’s Page is not an exciting fighter to watch, but he knows how to get his hand raised. Look for Page to dance his way to a decision win over Uzbekistan’s Ruziboev.

Welterweight bout: Daniil Donchenko vs. Punahele Soriano

Ukraine’s Donchenko is a rising star in the UFC, and the knockout artist should be able to dispatch the Hawaiian Soriano in this fight with another highlight-reel knockout win.

Featherweight bout: Kurtis Campbell vs. Trevor Peek

England’s Campbell lost his UFC debut to Danny Silva earlier this year in London, but I think he can bounce back here with a decision win over the American Peek, who is going to struggle to stop Campbell from taking him to the ground in this fight.

Featherweight bout: Losense Keita vs. Muhammad Naimov

Kicking off the main card, Belgium’s Keita looks to collect his first UFC win against Tajikistan’s Naimov. Keta lost a close fight to the underrated Nathaniel Wood in his UFC debut, and with Naimov coming off a brutal KO loss in his last fight, I think this is a great spot for Keita to get his first UFC win with an exciting knockout.

UFC Paris Preliminary Card Preview & Picks

Featherweight bout: Morgan Charriere vs. Felipe Lima

The featured prelim pits France’s Charriere against Brazil’s Lima. This is one of the few fights featuring a French fighter where they are the betting underdog, and I believe that’s accurate, as Lima is the better overall fighter and should win a decision.

Pick: Felipe Lima via decision

Heavyweight bout: Mario Pinto vs. Ryan Spann

This heavyweight bout between Pinto and Spann won’t go the distance. Both men have a ton of power and questionable chins, so look for this fight to end early and violently, likely with Pinto knocking out Spann to keep his undefeated record intact.

Light heavyweight bout: Oumar Sy vs. Modestas Bukauskas

Two inconsistent light heavyweights meet when France’s Sy gets a home-country fight against Lithuania’s Bukauskas. Look for a close fight here, with Sy ultimately edging out a competitive decision on the judges’ scorecards.

Featherweight bout: Nathaniel Wood vs. Pavel Andrusca

One of the most underrated fighters in the UFC, Wood takes on UFC newcomer Andrusca in a featherweight bout. Andrusca is filling in on short notice for the injured Mairon Santos, and I don’t expect this fight against the veteran Wood to go well for him, as I believe Wood will win a decision.

Flyweight bout: Michael Aljarouj vs. Fabia Sintes

Two flyweights make their respective UFC debuts when France’s Aljarouj takes on Spain’s Sintes. This should be a fun fight for as long as it lasts, but with Aljarouj having the fans cheering him on, I think they can help lead him to an impressive knockout victory.

Women’s bantamweight bout: Nora Cornolle vs. Klaydia Sygula

We have a women’s bantamweight bout between France’s Cornolle and Poland’s Sygula. Like many women’s MMA bouts, I expect this one to go the distance, and with Cornolle fighting at home, I see her edging out a close decision on the judges’ scorecards.

Middleweight bout: Matthieu Duclos vs. Luis Felipe Dias

France’s Duclos makes his UFC debut when he battles Brazilian Dias in this middleweight bout that won’t last long. Both men have a ton of power, and with Duclos having the crowd rooting for him, expect him to get a huge knockout win in front of his home crowd.

Women’s strawweight bout: Delphne Benouaich vs. Sofia Montenegro

France’s Benouaich takes on Argentina’s Montenegro in what should be an exciting women’s strawweight bout to kick off the card. Both women are very fun fighters to watch, but with Benouaich fighting at home, I expect her to win a close decision.
