Mohammed Kudus has settled in well at Tottenham as he looks to make his mark under Thomas Frank this season

Tottenham winger Mohammed Kudus has made a blistering start to life at N17 following his summer move from West Ham United. It’s already clear why the Lilywhites were willing to pay a premium for the Ghanaian international, who has quickly established himself as one of Thomas Frank’s most influential players this season. Week after week, the 25-year-old continues to deliver high-quality performances, proving to be worth every penny of his transfer fee.

Kudus was once again the difference-maker as Tottenham edged past Leeds United in the Premier League. The dynamic winger grabbed his fourth assist of the season by setting up Mathys Tel for the opener at Elland Road, before capping off his display with a well-taken second-half goal — his first of the campaign — to seal a vital 2–1 victory for the North London side.

Since arriving at Spurs, Kudus has become a mainstay under Thomas Frank, adding pace, flair, and directness to the team’s attacking play. His willingness to take on defenders and his ability to make things happen in the final third have been a breath of fresh air for Tottenham. The Ghanaian’s confidence and consistency have made him not just a key player, but also a genuine match-winner. His signing already looks like one of the smartest pieces of business the Lilywhites have made in recent years.

Tottenham already getting to see the best of Mohammed Kudus

Mohammed Kudus brings a unique dynamic to Spurs’ frontline. His unpredictability – being equally capable of cutting inside or going wide – makes him a nightmare for defenders to contain. Beyond his attacking qualities, the 25-year-old also contributes significantly off the ball. His strength in duels, tireless work-rate, and ability to retain possession in tight spaces give him an edge over other players in the squad.

Former Spurs forward Jermain Defoe also heaped praise on Kudus’ all-round game, highlighting the balance he brings to both attack and defence. When asked about the Ghanaian’s performances, Defoe said (via Tottenham News),

“We speak about what he does for the team going forward, but it’s also about what he does for the team going back. He’s a unique footballer. He’s strong, and he never loses the ball. You can trust him when he lands on it, and he does the work back, which is so important. And then when he gets it in the final third, you always fancy him to create or score a goal.”

Defoe rightly points out that Mohammed Kudus is much more than a winger that thrives with the ball. The ex-Spurs icon highlights the Ghanaian’s work-ethic and his ability to retain the ball in the final third of the pitch, calling him a ‘unique’ footballer. Defoe also notes that the 25-year-old manages to create or score a goal every time he gets the ball, which makes him a standout player in the team.

Kudus’ first goal of the season could not have come at a better time as Spurs enter the international break just two points behind league leaders Arsenal. Fans will hope that the Ghana international manages to continue his fine form in the coming weeks and help Spurs compete hard on all four fronts this season. The Lilywhites will surely be banking on the 25-year-old as they look to build on last season’s Europa League success.
