
The USMNT under Maruicio Pochettino will play their last match of 2025 against Uruguay, who will play in the 2026 World Cup.
The USMNT is undefeated in their last four friendly matches against teams that have qualified for the 2026 World Cup. The USA defeated Japan 2-0, drew 1-1 with Ecuador, and defeated Australia 2-1 before the November window.
In the previous match, the USMNT defeated Paraguay 2-1 at Subaru Park in Chester, Pennsylvania.
Goals from Giovani Reyna and Folarin Balogun secured the win for the USMNT against the South American team that will play their first World Cup next summer since 2010.
Uruguay also played a friendly before the match against the USA a few days ago, against the other nation hosting the 2026 World Cup, Mexico. In Mexico, the Mexico vs Uruguay match finished in a 0-0 draw.
Uruguay is without key players like Al Hilal striker Darwin Nunez and Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde.
