Fulham is the latest club linked to United States men's national team star Ricardo Pepi. According to a Daily Mail report, the Cottagers could be ready to make a £40 million splash to sign the 22-year-old striker when the January transfer window opens.

Pepi has been in outstanding form for PSV Eindhoven. He has collected seven goals in 14 Eredivisie matches and chipped in 10 goals in 21 games across all competitions for the back-to-back Dutch champions.

The 6-foot-1 forward was a transfer target of West Ham United one year ago, though the Hammers were unwilling to meet PSV's asking price. A £25 million bid was rejected by the Dutch club.

Fulham currently ranks 10th in the Premier League standings after collecting 26 points through 18 matches. The London club would benefit from adding a goal-getter like Pepi to add dynamism to an attack that has netted 25 league goals.

Pepi could use a step up against the stronger competition offered by the Premier League to fine tune his preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Strikers who've mastered the Eredivisie have frequently moved to the Premier League in search of a new challenge.

USMNT head coach Mauricio Pochettino is expected to lean on Christian Pulisic, Folarin Bologun and Pepi to bang in the goals at the world's most-watched tournament in 2026.

Pepi has scored 13 goals for the United States through 34 international matches.
