In the United States, soccer is slowly growing despite the sport not being the 'main' sport of the country. The popularity of the sport is growing due to the MLS and the NWSL.
The U.S. is known for growing women's soccer as the USWNT has been seen as the top team in the world for many years. One of the biggest fans of the USWNT is Hollywood star E.R. Fightmaster, who is mostly known for their appearances in the popular series, Grey's Anatomy.
Fightmaster appeared in The RE—CAP Show, the podcast for former USWNT players Tobin Heath and Christen Press. During the podcast, Fightmaster expressed her love for women's soccer and the USWNT.
Fightmaster also described how great the NWSL has been over the year and how it has grown women's soccer over the past few years.
When praising women's soccer being tough, Fightmaster goes on to explain why they believe that men's soccer is not as tough.
Fightmaster reveals that they don't watch a lot of men's soccer because the Hollywood star believes that men's soccer often involves lots of diving and whining.
Fightmaster said, "Women’s soccer is particularly tough. The amount of men’s soccer I’ve watched is very low because I don’t like how often they cry."
Fightmaster complains about how much time the players waste after dramatically falling and going down.
Fightmaster said, “Like I’m old school like that. I’m just like, stop. Like you did not tear your ACL. You got lightly grazed by his boot. Like that’s enough. You’re on the floor, holding your knee. That’s embarrassing, I’m out. And the game is gonna be what, two hours now, because you’re rolling around down there 16 times? Enough. You do not see that in the women’s game. It’s some tough b*tch sh*t."
The comment on men's soccer having many players fall down on the ground easily has been criticized by many people over the years. Some fans online agree with Fightmaster's words, while others challenge the comment due to the physicality of men's soccer.
