The USWNT and Japan are set to wrap up their three-match series today. This series is a crucial testing ground for head coach Emma Hayes as she evaluates roster depth and integrates returning veterans

The first match took place on April 11 in San Jose, California, where the United States secured a 2-1 victory.

This game featured a veteran-heavy starting lineup that included Rose Lavelle making her 100th career start. Lavelle and Lindsey Heaps provided the scoring for the U.S. side to open the series with a win.

The second match followed on April 14 in Seattle, Washington, resulting in a 1-0 victory for Japan.

Head coach Emma Hayes chose to fully rotate her squad for this game, fielding an entirely new starting eleven while Japan made nine changes.

Maika Hamano scored the lone goal of the match in the 27th minute, which effectively snapped the USWNT's ten-game winning streak and leveled the three-match series.
