The last match for tonight's Saturday matchday in the MLS will be the Vancouver Whitecaps against the San Jose Earthquakes at BC Place.

Both teams are in the top positions of the Western Conference league table after four matchdays. Vancouver Whitecaps top the league table of the Western Conference with 12 points. The Whitecaps have scored 14 goals and only conceded one in four games.

The San Jose Earthquakes are 4th in the Western Conference league table with 9 points, with a record of three wins and one loss; they have scored six goals and conceded one.

Last weekend, the Vancouver Whitecaps defeated Minnesota United 6-0 at home with goals from Sebastian Berhalter, Mathias Laborda, Emmanuel Sabbi, Cheikh Sabaly, and two goals from Brian White.

San Jose suffered their first loss of the season by losing 1-0 to the Seattle Sounders at home in PayPal Park.

The last encounter between the Vancouver Whitecaps and San Jose Earthquakes resulted in a 4-1 home win for the Whitecaps.
