Villarreal vs Manchester City is the third match in the Champions League for both teams, and both teams started differently after two games played.

Villarreal only has one point in the Champions League after losing one and drawing one. The Spanish side lost 1-0 to Tottenham Hotspur and then drew 2-2 to Juventus in their previous Champions League game.

Villarreal are winless in their last three matches across all competitions, and over the weekend in La Liga, Villarreal gave away a 2-0 lead and drew 2-2 to Real Betis at home.

Manchester City have four points in the UCL after beating Napoli 2-0 and drawing 2-2 against AS Monaco away from home. Man City are eighth in the Champions League table and are one of 11 teams in the competition that are undefeated.

Man City are undefeated in their last eight matches across all competitions, and over the weekend in the Premier League, Pep Guardiola's team defeated Everton 2-0 at home with a brace from Erling Haaland.
