IMAGO/Action Plus/Lee Parker

Arsenal annihilated Sheffield United on Monday night by storming into a 5-0 lead before half-time.

The Gunners had five different scorers in the first 45 minutes.

Captain Martin Odegaard opened the floodgates in the fifth minute before a Jayden Bogle own goal made it 2-0 moments later.

Gabriel Martinelli, Kai Havertz and Declan Rice then got in on the act.

Arsenal ended the first half having registered 16 shots - 15 more than the Blades, who are now in danger of breaking Derby County's record for the most goals conceded in a 38-game Premier League season.

Derby let in 89 goals in the 2007/08 campaign. Sheffield United had conceded 66 in 26 before Monday's mauling.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have now scored five or more goals in three consecutive EPL away games.

The Gunners boast the best goal difference of any team in England's top six divisions this season.
