Watch: Cristiano Ronaldo scores 100th international goal for Portugal

Another day, another piece of history for CR7.

Portugal superstar Cristiano Ronaldo became the second male player to notch 100 career international goals during Tuesday's Nations League match versus Sweden.

Seconds before stoppage time of the game's opening half, Ronaldo delivered a pinpoint free-kick attempt that eluded Sweden goalkeeper Robin Olsen and hit the top-left corner of the net for the contest's opening tally.

As ESPN explained, Ronaldo now trails only Iran's Ali Daei, who accumulated 109 goals during his historic international career. ESPN added that the 35-year-old who helped Italian giants Juventus claim the 2019-20 Serie A crown scored 48 of his 100 national team goals after he celebrated his 30th birthday.

Ronaldo could've hit the century mark on Saturday against Croatia but was sidelined because of a toe infection. He scored his first goal for Portugal in the group stage of the 2004 UEFA European Football Championship during a 2-1 loss to Greece. Greece went on to win that tournament.
