Watch: Everton's last gasp forces Liverpool to drop points in Merseyside Derby

Fans of the English Premier League understand that no matter which end of the standings Liverpool and Everton are on, the Merseyside Derby is always sure to deliver electric moments.

One more was added to the annals of the 130-year-old rivalry on Wednesday when Everton defender James Tarkowski booted a 98th-minute equalizer from near-point blank range.

Liverpool led 2-1 even as the announced five minutes of stoppage time had reached their conclusion. However, due to continued stoppages during the extra time, Everton were able to find a miracle moment.

The draw forces Liverpool to drop two all-important standings points as it attempts to extend the gap between it (57 points) and the nearest challenger Arsenal (50) in the Premier League title race.

Wednesday's electric derby match will be the final in the series at historic Goodison Park, home of Everton, as the club will be moving to a new stadium nearby for the start of the 2025-26 season.
