Last weekend, a clip from Neymar’s documentary with DAZN where the 29-year-old stated that the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar would likely be his last. In addition, the Paris Saint-Germain forward revealed the mental grind that is taking a toll on him.

As PSG player’s return from international duty, Mauricio Pochettino spoke to the media at his press conference. One of the questions the Argentine tactician provided his thoughts on Neymar possibly retiring soon from football.

“Neymar is a very sincere boy who reveals his feelings. You have to take things in context; he has a very important mental strength. From an early age, he has been in the spotlight. He is a smiling person who loves football,” Pochettino said.

“The mental? This is something very important. We must give ourselves the means to help the players. However, this is not the ideal time to discuss statements taken out of context. But yes, it’s important to care about the minds of the players.”
