Watch: ‘He’s an Incredible Player’ – Ed Sheeran Recounts Meeting Lionel Messi After the Match Against Man City

For last month’s UEFA Champions League match against Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain welcomed English musician Ed Sheeran to watch the game at the Parc des Princes. Sheeran spoke about meeting Lionel Messi postgame in an interview with Absolute Radio (via RMC Sport). 

Sheeran recounted that Messi listens to his music through his wife, Antonela, and his family went to a couple of his shows, which resulted in the two meeting and posing for a picture after the fixture.

“I knew his wife was a huge fan,” Ed Sheeran told British radio. “So I think he listens to my music that way. They came to a few shows, and that’s why when I came to the game, he told me he wanted to say hello.”

“He’s an incredible player. He scored his first goal for PSG that night. It was a wonderful evening to see this stage ignite.”
