Manchester United legend Paul Scholes says Marcus Rashford has been our outstanding performer so far in 2022/23.

Scholes gives his verdict after Rashford’s brace against Wales at the World Cup, where he helped England qualify for the round of 16 as winners of Group B.

Rashford is United’s top scorer under Erik ten Hag, with eight goals in all competitions, and Scholes has waxed lyrical about his performances this season while speaking to club media.

“I’ll go for Marcus,” said Scholes.

“I think he’s turned it around. He’s had a bit of a tough 18 months but I think he’s been looking really dangerous this season. Hopefully he’s carried it on a little bit with England as well, with the minutes he’s played.

“Hopefully he can come back and have a really strong end to the season as well.”

Rashford finally appears to be enjoying his football under Erik ten Hag and he has continued his brilliant form on the international stage for Chelsea.

He already has three goals to his name at the World Cup and should be in Gareth Southgate’s line-up to face Senegal in the last 16.
