Watch: Performance of Lionel Messi in Victory Over Peru

It was a relatively quiet night for Lionel Messi by his standards as the Paris Saint-Germain forward, and Argentina welcomed Peru to Buenos Aires, where it was a highly contested matchup considering the final 1-0 result. 

Peru seemed to contain Messi and wanted others on the squad to defeat them, which they did as Lautaro Martínez scored the match’s lone goal. The 34-year-old played all 90 minutes, only having one shot on target for La Albiceleste.
