Watch: Petulant Sunderland boss Michael Beale ignores his own player during defeat

Michael Beale is not a popular man with Sunderland fans and the way he treated defender Trai Hume this week is unlikely to ingratiate him to the players either.

Beale oversaw yet another defeat, losing 2-1 to Birmingham despite taking a first-half lead.

It was a reversal of the recent win over Plymouth, with Sunderland putting in an absolutely dreadful second-half performance in which it took them more than 20 minutes to even have an attack.

Perhaps the biggest talking point, though, came late in the game when Beale substituted Trai Hume.

The substitution, which introduced striker Hemir into the action, wasn’t a bad call at all, but Beale’s treatment of Hume was shocking.

As Hume walked bast Beale on his way to the dugout, the Northern Irishman extended his arm to Beale and the former Rangers manager refused to even acknowledge him. You can see the incident below.
