Typically, if soccer fans hear that an American scored a wicked goal in European competition, their minds will immediately think of Christian Pulisic.
But not Tuesday. USMNT midfielder Weston McKennie was on the successful end of a goal booted off his right foot from the edge of the penalty box.
He broke the 0-0 deadlock for his club, Juventus, in the first half of the team's Champions League match against Dutch side PSV Eindhoven.

McKennie's incredible goal was his third in Champions League play this season, capping off a chaotic sequence in which several of his teammates juggled the ball close to the goal line but couldn't control it for a shot.
Juventus finished 20th in the Champions League standings after the "league stage," meaning it must defeat opponent PSV Eindhoven on aggregate scoring across two legs in order to advance to the round of 16.
McKennie joined Juventus in 2020, becoming the first American to ever play for the club. This season he also became the first from the U.S. to ever captain the team, first wearing the arm band in January in the Champions League.
