Manchester United are well on their way to securing their passage to the final of the Carabao Cup, with Erik ten Hag’s men claiming a 2-0 aggregate lead after the first half.

United made the trip to the City Ground and Ten Hag made just three changes from the side that lost to Arsenal at the weekend, with Wout Weghorst among the player to keep their places.

The Dutchman failed to open his account in his first two appearances but he’s now off the mark for the Reds, doubling United’s lead just before half-time, as seen below.

Weghorst’s opportunist strike came after Marcus Rashford had given United an early lead with a sensational solo effort and now, Ten Hag will be looking to add another goal or two after the interval.

United would do well to all but kill any hope of a Forest turnaround in any of the three remaining halves in this tie. Keeping a clean sheet, for starters, is paramount.
