West Ham United identify Crysencio Summerville replacement

Despite their ongoing battle to sign another central midfielder following the coup of Ederson from Atalanta, Manchester United will be keeping half an eye on other areas of the team to bolster through the transfer market this summer.

The Red Devils have been pushing to sign Crysencio Summerville, making contact with West Ham United over the availability of the Dutch winger, who is expected to cost around £50 million this summer. The 24-year-0ld is viewed as one of the London club’s biggest assets following their relegation from the Premier League, alongside fellow United target Mateus Fernandes.

The pair could cost up to £140 million if West Ham continue to stick to their valuations, and United follow through with their targets. The Irons are looking ahead at their next move amid speculation, and have now identified their Summerville replacement.

West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo is looking to bring in Leicester City winger Abdul Fatawu as Summerville edges closer to an exit, according to The Daily Mail. The Championship favourites are looking to bounce straight back to the Premier League, and bringing in a player with an excellent pedigree in the second tier could be an excellent decision.

While Crysencio Summerville prefers to play on the left side of attack, he can also play on the right, which is where Fatawu thrives. The 22-year-old scored 9 goals and picked up 7 assists in the 2025/26 season despite Leicester City’s relegation. As part of a better overall team, Fatawu will undoubtedly better those numbers, as he did when the Foxes were promoted in 2023/24 under Enzo Maresca.

With multiple Premier League clubs looking at signing Crysencio Summerville this summer, as well as Paris Saint-Germain being interested, Manchester United are going to find enticing yet another target a difficult task.
