West Ham United keen to beat Totteham Hotspur to signing Jack Grealish

Tottenham Hotspur have been looking to bring in a creative outlet this summer window, and Manchester City star Jack Grealish has been subject to links with a move to Hotspur Way along the ongoing summer transfer window.

While there has been interest from the Lilywhites, TBR Football understands that Grealish has been attracting interest from multiple Premier League clubs this summer window, with his former employer Aston Villa having been circling for his signature for weeks alongside Tottenham, and now West Ham have expressed interest in taking the England international to London Stadium, but the Hammers will only do so if the terms of the transfer are reasonable.

West Ham want a loan with reasonable terms to sign Grealish this summer

New Hammers boss Graham Potter has already begun pre-season preparations with his squad, and he will now be going back to the drawing board in order to determine how he is going to replace the outgoing Mohammed Kudus, who recently signed for Tottenham. And there has also been a sense of uncertainty around Lucas Paqueta because of his infamous betting investigation, which makes West Ham think layered in terms of the creative aspects of the game, and this is where Grealish comes into the picture for them.

City are said to be open to letting Grealish leave this summer, given how his £100m move to the Etihad hasn’t quite worked out as everyone expected and he has now been demoted into a mere squad role under Pep. But given his potential, there is still a sense of confidence in his ability to play in the English top tier, and this is what makes West Ham and Tottenham ready to pounce.

But let’s get into the facts about his finances. He is currently the highest-paid English player, and West Ham doesn’t have any financial capacity to match those wages in full, so they have been looking to explore a loan deal which should see City covering a reasonable portion of his salary.

West Ham advance but Tottenham don’t really need Grealish now…

It is reported that talks have reportedly begun between intermediaries as the Hammers look to test the waters for what could be one of the highlight transfers this summer.

For Tottenham, it does look like Daniel Levy is cooling off his pursuit of Grealish given how the North Londoners have already brought in Kudus this summer and are progressing in talks to land Morgan Gibbs-White at N17, making it no longer necessary for Tottenham to be in the market for another attacking midfielder.
