Tottenham forward Timo Werner might end up at West Ham United in the summer

Tottenham Hotspur outcast Timo Werner is heading for the exit doors in the summer. The Germany international has just not made an impact under Ange Postecoglou. It is certain that the Lilywhites have also run out of patience with his lack of input and believe that it is better to part ways with the 29-year-old. Werner looks like a shadow of himself and has lacked the confidence to step up in crucial moments.

Spurs signed the forward on loan in 2024 from Red Bull Leipzig. The Lilywhites believed that Werner would be a good backup option to have in case of an injury. But Ange Postecoglou soon realised that the German was not up to the mark and not suitable for his style of play. Now, the Lilywhites will look to offload him once the season ends and ship him back to Leipzig.

The North London club have endured a disastrous campaign and need a massive squad overhaul in the summer. Daniel Levy has already started looking for players to bring in for next season. However, the club will first need to decide on Ange Postecoglou’s uncertain future before proceeding to sign players.

West Ham United interested in signing Tottenham flop Timo Werner

Timo Werner has just not got going for Tottenham ever since his arrival to N17. The forward has struggled to make an impact and fans have also run out of patience with the 29-year-old. It does not make sense for the Lilywhites to extend Werner’s stay at the club and sign him on a permanent deal in the summer.

It was reported earlier that Spurs are willing to offload Timo Werner once the season ends. That still stands true. However, the Germany international faces a dilemma as Red Bull Leipzig do not want to keep him as well for next season. The only way Werner can save his career is by seeking for a new move quickly. TalkSPORT reports that West Ham United are interested in signing the 29-year-old.

The Hammers are also willing to pay £8.5m for his services and believe that Werner would be a good backup option to have. The ex-Chelsea forward is also open to stay in London and wants to prove his critics wrong by performing well in the Premier League next season.

It was never a good idea to bring Timo Werner to N17 in the first place. The 29-year-old struggled during his time at Chelsea and it was clear that the Premier League was not suited for him. Yet, Daniel Levy made the decision to bring the German forward to North London. Now, it is fair to say that it was a wrong move and a miscalculation from Spurs to sign the forward.
