Former Wolves man and West Ham manager Nuno Espírito Santo has confirmed there will be late fitness tests for a couple of players before he meets his old team. Crysencio Summerville and Jean-Clair Todibo have both missed previous fixtures and are working to regain full fitness. Callum Wilson, Dinos Mavropanos, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Mads Hermansen are all expected to return to action on Friday night.
Nuno had this to say during his pre-match press conference: “He’s (Summerville) improving. Cry, JC, and Callum Wilson are all improving, so we’ll see. We still have tomorrow to assess, and we’re positive that they can be available.
“Dinos is clear of the concussion protocol, which is good. Aaron [Wan-Bissaka] is back with us, and he’s working well.
“A few of our players are recovering after Sunday, because it was a tough game, that went to extra-time, but it mainly was just fatigue, so we’re positive.”
Sam Johnstone is potentially out for the rest of the season with a shoulder injury, and Matt Doherty will miss the West Ham game with a niggle. On facing the former Wolves boss, Rob Edwards had this to say: “It’s not us against him. He’s a brilliant manager who rightly has legendary status at this club.”
