Real Madrid earned a 2-1 victory over Barcelona at the Santiago Bernabeu during the tenth round of LaLiga 2025-26.

Thanks to this result, Xabi Alonso’s team remains the leader, now with 27 points. Hansi Flick’s men, for their part, are in second place with 22 points, very close to Villarreal (20 points) and Real Espanyol (18 points).

Los Blancos secured the victory with goals from Kylian Mbappe in the 22nd minute and Jude Bellingham in the 43rd. Barcelona had equalized in the 38th minute with a goal from Fermin Lopez.

El Clasico was not without controversy, as Vinicius Jr. staged a tantrum upon being substituted for Rodrygo in the 75th minute.

Also, several players confronted each other at the end of the match. Dani Carvajal, for example, confronted Lamine Yamal over the comments the 18-year-old forward made a few days ago.

What Happened After Real Madrid vs Barcelona Ended? Here's Why the Fight Started

At the end of the match, there were several altercations on the pitch. Vinicius Jr., who had returned after going straight to the locker room when he was substituted, was one of the protagonists, as was Yamal.

It all started with Dani Carvajal approaching Lamine and making a hand gesture as if to say "talk now," and not before the match as he did.

The Barcelona player did not back down and, far from walking away from the action, began walking towards the Real Madrid captain. Several players from both teams intercepted them so that the situation wouldn't escalate.

Vinicius also addressed the Barca player with the phrase "talk now." Yamal had heated up the atmosphere before the match, and the Merengue club's players wanted to make him pay for it.

At the end of the match, Aurelien Tchouameni also expressed his opinion on the matter, stating that, in the end, Yamal's statements only motivate the squad.

Xabi Alonso was also questioned about this in a press conference, to which he responded that they do not motivate his team because they were already motivated regardless of the off-pitch atmosphere.
