Milan and Inter play the opening 2025-26 Serie A Round at home as the Stadio Meazza won’t be available for a weekend in February 2026 for the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympic Games.
The Serie A fixture list for 2025-26 is being unveiled today (LIVE COVERAGE HERE).
Both Inter and Milan will play the opening match at home, and Lega Serie A explained the reason for it before the start of the ceremony.
With the Winter Olympic Games scheduled to take place in Italy in 2026, the Stadio Meazza has been selected for the opening ceremony on February 6.
On that weekend, neither Milan nor Inter will have the chance to play at home. Therefore, they’ll both start the campaign at the Stadio Meazza.
The dates and times for each game will be released at a later stage, so it is still unknown on which days Inter and Milan will make their Serie A debut in 2025-26.
Surely, Inter will host Torino, while Milan will face the newly promoted side Cremonese.
