Geovany Quenda is at Chelsea’s Cobham training base at the moment, and two plans are being made for his summer.

Nizaar Kinsella has written up a piece for the BBC today which reveals that Geovany Quenda is at Chelsea at the moment, and is expected to stay at Cobham until the March international break.

The winger doesn’t technically make the move from Sporting until the summer, but has come early to Chelsea’s training ground to use the facilities to recover from his metatarsal injury and to get started on his adaptation to life in the UK.

The club are using the time to develop strategies for Quenda’s future.

Two alternative plans in place for Quenda future

“He has also had opportunities to meet Chelsea players and members of staff, with two plans already in place – one for if he makes Portugal’s squad in the summer and another if he does not – before his first campaign at Stamford Bridge next season,” Kinsella writes of the winger’s future.

We do hope that Quenda makes the Portugal squad. It will be a great experience for him, and gives us another player to look out for and support during the tournament.

However, for his Chelsea career it will also be good if he doesn’t go, and has a nice chance to rest and then get settled in early in London.

Luis Enrique has already had his press conference, and he previewed tomorrow night’s Champions League game by speaking a lot about Liam Rosenior’s style of play.

One player who won’t be featuring in the game tomorrow is Estevao, who missed today’s open training session.
