Moises Caicedo was absolutely superb in today’s win over Tottenham. Chelsea were dominant thanks to his energy in midfield, and when the Blues were wasteful up front for the whole game, it came down to Caicedo to win the ball and set up Joao Pedro to score.

The Brazilian striker was then of course the first person questioned about his teammate, and he was more than happy to praise the midfield machine:

“Moises, everyone knows, he’s a top, top player. It’s a pleasure to play with him. And when he passed to me on the pitch, at half-time I said to him ‘I need to invite you to dinner!’ Just want to say thank you to him, thank you to the team for support,” Joao Pedro said in quotes picked up by the Premier League.

“I score but I still need to improve. I had a lot of chances. We won the game and I needed this goal after not scoring for a long time.”

Then it was Caicedo’s chance to speak:

“We needed this. The reaction from the team was so good. Everybody’s happy now. These games, we need to play how we played. The team was so good. I’m so happy with the performance – now we need to keep winning games.”

Hats off you to, Moises.

In other news…

Wesley Fofana was superb in the game, dominating at centre back and keeping Spurs under control. His stats were brilliant and we hope we can see more of him this season now he’s fit.

Alejandro Garnacho was subbed off in this game, and he showed his frustration. It was only minor, but it’s not what you want to see from a player ever really.
