Ahead of a major clash with Arsenal in the Premier League, fans are wondering one thing, will Estevao start for Chelsea this weekend? The Brazilian starlet has emerged as one of the team’s finest players after his early-season performances with a winner against Liverpool and a strong outing with Barcelona. In this, we will be diving into whether the attacker will start or not this weekend.

Will Estevao Start for Chelsea Against Arsenal?

Latest Injury News

When speaking to the media ahead of this fixture, manager Liam Rosenior provided an update on a number of players, including Estevao. The youngster “will be out for a little big longer” according to his coach and will miss the clash with the Gunners altogether.

This isn’t the only game he’s missed as he was left out of the squad to face Burnley after playing and coming off as a substitute against Hull City. There were no clear signs of injury in that FA Cup tie but between that and the Clarets, the winger picked up a hamstring issue which hasn’t been given any timeline just yet.

A Blow to The Attack

The Brazilian has been one of the team’s netter attacking option in a campaign that has seen Alejandro Garnacho and Jamie Gittens underperform. Cole Palmer’s inconsistency and groin problems have also stopped him from contributing in the way he has in previous years. A lot of the impetus has fallen on Joao Pedro and Pedro Neto to get goal contributions for most of the campaign.

Estevao has been helping with this when he’s on the pitch. In 32 appearances across all competitions, he has seven goals and three assists, all grabbed acrossjust under 1500 minutes. This kind of attacking flair could have come in handy against an Arsenal defence that has looked shaky lately but Rosenior will have to do without another attacker for this one.
