Gael Cabrera (5-0, 3 KOs) scored a third-round knockout over Mychaquell Shields (2-5) just before the card reached the main telecast on DAZN. Although the opening round began with a ton of feints, towards the end, Cabrera landed a left hook, sending Shields down for the first knockdown of the fight. Cabrera kept the pressure on Shields throughout the second round. Cabrera landed a check right hook and then a lopping left hook to knockdown Shields for the second time in the fight. In the third round, the relentless pressure from Cabrera led to him landing a left hook to the body and sending Shields down again, but this time, the referee would stop it immediately.
In their six-round bout, lightweight prospect Joshua Garcia (9-0, 4 KOs) scored a majority decision victory over Jason Buenaobra (10-11-3, 4 KOs). It wasn’t the most exciting fight, as Garcia had opportunities to close the show and chose not to step up his aggressiveness. The judges had this one 57-57, 58-56, 59-55, which was a surprise as Buenaobra wasn’t ever in this fight.
Joshua Garcia keeps his undefeated record and is now 9-0!

Both fighters were a little hesitant with their punches throughout the first round. In the second round, Buenaobra’s punches were being thrown slowly and lazily, allowing Garcia to counter with straight right hands and uppercuts. Garcia landed two consecutive left hooks in the second round which hurt Buenaobra and had him on wobbly legs. Buenaobra barely survived the round. The rest of the fight was Garcia counterpunching and getting to Buanaobra first. Garcia hurt his opponent in the last round but could not finish him.
Anthony Saldivar (7-0, 3 KOs) scored a second-round TKO over Roman Canto (15-18-3, 9 KOs). The southpaw Saldivar had his way in the first round, as Canto was clearly outsized and lunging with all his punches. Saldivar landed a right hook to the body in the second round, forcing Canto to turn his back, and the referee went ahead and stopped the fight.
Daniel Luna (4-1, 4 KOs) puts on a quick but punishing performance as he stops Joseph Walker (1-2) before the start of the second round.

Walker started the opening round strong with his quickness as Luna looked to adjust. Towards the middle of the round, Luna landed an overhand right followed by a left hook, which hurt Walker badly. Luna would land four more of those left hooks, with Walker holding on for dear life each time. Once the round was over, Walker’s corner decided that he had taken enough punishment and asked for the fight to be stopped. Luna scores the second-round TKO victory in front of many family and friends.
Japhethlee Llamido (12-1, 4 KOs) scored a solid unanimous decision over Ryan Allen (10-8-1, 5 KOs) to start the night off at the Toyota Center in Ontario, CA. The judges saw this one 78-73, 77-74, 80-73 for Llamido.
Llamido began the fight in the southpaw stance before switching to conventional. He showed a tight defense and a solid jab. Allen was getting his punches off on the inside and changing the levels of his punches. Allen took control in the second round and landed a straight right hand that made LIamido take a step back and reset.
Llamido returned to the southpaw stance in the third round and had more success with his right jab and cuffing right check hook. Allen had the high guard and was trying to get inside but couldn’t land anything significant. Llamido landed a hard right hook to the body that stopped Allen in his tracks in the fourth round which was the best punch in the fourth round. Llamido landed a right hand close to the back of the head of Allen in the fifth round which resulted in a questionable knockdown as Allen’s momentum was going forward. Prior to that, it was an Allen round.
Allen was spent in the sixth round, and although Llamido dominated the round, he waited too long to step up his aggressiveness. Llamido would control the next two rounds, leading to a unanimous decision victory.
