With Manchester City looking for someone to slot in on the right wing who could be the ideal signing?

Manchester City have been linked to a host of right-wingers of late. Steve Kay of footballtransers.com reported that the champions intend to sign someone to play on the right wing to accommodate Phil Foden’s shift into midfield. With that being the case who could be the ideal signing for the treble winners in the summer transfer window? Here’s a look at three players linked with the champions. They are all interesting candidates for a spot on City’s right wing.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia

Recent comments by the agent of Kvaratskhelia which were relayed by CalcioNapoli24 indicate that the treble winners could be a possible destination for the Napoli star. Mamuka Jugeli explained that Manchester City, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich or Barcelona would be the ideal destinations for the winger if he were to leave Napoli.

Graeme Bailey has previously reported for 90min.com that the treble winners have sent scouts to monitor the Georgian international.

While Kvaratskhelia primarily plays on the left wing for club and country he can also play on the right wing. One determining factor in any club’s potential move for the Georgian could be Napoli’s asking price. While reports indicate that the champions are interested in the winger it would appear he would be the least likely target for the treble winners.

Stranger things have happened in the transfer market but given his asking price and Manchester City’s relationship with Napoli, it may be a hard deal to complete for the world champions.

Pedro Neto

Another winger linked to the champions is Wolves winger Pedro Neto. Steve Kay reports for footballtransfers.com that Manchester City believe their offer of first-team football can trump Arsenal’s interest in the Wolves star. Kay further reports that Bernardo Silva and Ruben Dias have been in contact with Neto to convince him to move to the Etihad.

It does feel that a potential Manchester City move for Pedro Neto could happen in the summer. Given the player’s age and Premier League experience, he could be the ideal candidate for the champions. With Manchester City having previously dealt with Wolves in signing Matheus Nunes there is a relationship established between the two clubs.

Savio

The Brazilian winger has had a breakout season with Girona. Savio has become a key contributor in their rise to the top of La Liga. His versatility could also be a valuable weapon for Pep Guardiola’s side with the ability to play on either wing. With his technical ability, dribbling and goal sense he could immediately slot into a role for Pep Guardiola’s side.

Fabrizio Romano has previously reported that the champions were having discussions in regards to signing the winger. With the young Brazilian owned by CFG club Troyes, it could be a relatively easy deal to complete. If Savio continues his strong form this season he may play his way straight to the Etihad.

As a player, he would appear ideally suited to the world champions. Being young and full of potential Savio could come in and immediately become a squad player. The potential of Oscar Bobb and Savio competing for the right-wing role may be the ideal proposition for Manchester City.

Could Oscar Bobb make the role his own?

Another possibility is that City’s Norwegian starlet Oscar Bobb makes the role his own. The City Academy graduate has begun to become a more prominent player in Pep Guardiola’s squad in recent weeks. His late winner against Newcastle showed the exceptional talent Manchester City have on their hands.

There is an opportunity for Bobb to stake his claim for the right-wing spot over the remainder of the season. Given how well he’s begun his career with the City first team it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him make the role his own come the start of next season.
