Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly among the clubs keeping a close eye on Tochi Chukwuani, the highly rated midfielder from Austrian side Sturm Graz. Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano revealed that Wolves, along with Hoffenheim and several French clubs, are tracking the 22-year-old’s situation ahead of a summer move.
Chukwuani has played a pivotal role in Sturm Graz’s push for the Austrian Bundesliga title this season. A composed and dynamic presence in midfield with three goals and one assist in 26 appearances, he offers the kind of energy and control that could make him a strong fit for the Premier League.
His ability to break up play and transition quickly into attack has been a key part of his development since leaving Nordsjælland in 2022. He has also made seven appearances in the Champions League this season.
With Vítor Pereira’s system relying on tactical discipline and youthful energy in the midfield, Chukwuani could be an ideal addition to Wolves as competition for André and João Gomes. At just 22, he represents the type of signing that Wolves have often excelled with – a raw but promising talent that is ready to grow within the Premier League’s demanding environment.
The talent agency Raiola have profiled the youngster and had high praise. Considering him one of the best at mixing playmaking with ball-winning. In addition, they stated that his “defensive metric place him among the very best” in his entire league at cutting out attacks.
While Wolves remain keen, the competition for Chukwuani’s signature is intensifying. Hoffenheim can offer a smoother transition into the German Bundesliga, while Ligue 1 clubs may appeal with their reputation for nurturing young players. However, Wolves’ Premier League platform and growing reputation for player development could give them the edge if they move decisively.
As Sturm Graz close in on the Austrian title, Chukwuani’s stock is rising fast. For Wolves fans, he’s certainly a name to keep an eye on as the summer transfer window approaches.
