Wolves not under financial pressure to sell Manchester United-linked star

Manchester United have been linked with many potential midfield signings this summer.

Several midfielders in the squad will inevitably be moved on at the end of the season. For instance, Casemiro’s best days are miles beyond him and he has been heavily linked with Saudi Pro League clubs. Christian Eriksen is another who has looked like a passenger in the team this season.

One potential transfer target for Manchester United is Wolves midfielder Joao Gomes, who has enjoyed a stellar season under the impressive Gary O’Neill, plus earning his first international cap for Brazil.

According to talkSPORT, Wolves are not under ‘financial pressure’ to sell Gomes, despite reports that he could be on his way this summer.

The Brazilian has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent months, as a potential replacement for fellow countryman Casemiro.

That said, Wolves are reportedly under no pressure to cash-in on the 23-year-old because they are currently in a solid position financially.

How Everton – and a few others – wish they could say that, eh?

The report adds that O’Neil is planning to have Gomes in his squad for next season.

While Wolves may not be under pressure to sell Gomes and Gomes plans to have him in available, we all know that money talks in football and every player has a price.
