Wolverhampton Wanderers travel to the capital to face Arsenal in a match that pits the Premier League pace setters against one of the most out-of-form teams in Europe. Mikel Arteta’s men enter the weekend looking to consolidate their place at the top of the table, buoyed by a formidable home record. But Wolves make the trip to North London in miserable form. They are currently winless in 15 games and struggling for goals, which makes this a difficult test for the West Midlands side. Here is our Wolves predicted lineup.
Wolves have predominantly lined up in a 3-5-2 or similar formation, with wingbacks making up a back five when defending. Last time out in a 4-1 loss to Manchester United, Sam Johnstone was at the back with Yerson Mosquera, Emmanuel Agbadou, and Toti Gomes in front of him.
The midfield was made up of Ki-Jana Hoever, Jean-Ricner Bellegarde, André, Ladislav Krejčí, and David Møller Wolfe. Jørgen Strand Larsen and Jhon Arias made up the forwards.
The 2025/26 season has been disastrous for the team. After 15 league games, they remain without a win and are anchored at the foot of the table with just two points. Statistically, Wolves have the worst attack in the league, scoring just eight goals and averaging 0.53 goals per game. Defensive lapses have proved equally costly, as they also have the worst defence in the league, conceding 33 goals (2.2 per game).
Tactically, Wolves have opted for a compact low block and are relying on counterattacks. Still, due to various factors such as a lack of pace, out-of-form players, and a general lack of quality, this has yielded little success.
Bellegarde went off injured against Manchester United, and Edwards has confirmed he will be out for six weeks. Marshall Munetsi is also out with a calf injury, and Rodrigo Gomes is still recovering from groin surgery.
