The World Cup is nearly upon us. Sure, it shouldn't be in November but let's get over it and find some ways to use the event to pad our betting accounts.
There are so many ways to bet on this premier international event. This is the first of a series of quick looks at each group, to see if we can pick off some values in the Group Stage of the event.
Netherlands: - 225 to win the group, - 800 to qualify
The Dutch are the only team in the group to have any real success on the international stage. They should have an easy time winning and advancing. I am not big on the payoff but they are the play.
Ecuador: +400 to win group, -125 to qualify
Senegal: +500 to win the group, +125 to qualify
These clubs are going to play in the last game of the group and the winner is the one that likely nabs the chance to advance. Both should beat Qatar and lose to the Netherlands.
For what it is worth, these teams played a friendly in the spring and Senegal won 1-0. In looking at the odds these teams look pretty even so that might a reason to lean towards Senegal.
There are some great hedging opportunities for that last game between these clubs. Senegal offer the better value.
Qatar: +1600 to win the group, +300 to qualify
The host nation is significantly outclassed. There is a great chance they do not even net a goal over the three games before making their exit.
Nothing to see here ... don't waste your money just because you are watching them.
OddsChecker World Cup futures
Our friends at OddsChecker dig deep into the FIFA Soccer World Cup. Lear Locks found a future bet that should be the easiest cash of the tournament. Belgium is the second-ranked team in FIFA right now and only -150 to win their group. This value is really amazing for this talented Belgium squad.
