Worry for Tottenham as PL rivals could now hijack January move for £26m-rated target

Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing Antonio Nusa this month, but they could now face competition from Premier League rivals Newcastle United.

A Report from Football Insider claims that the Magpies are in discussions to sign the 18-year-old  and they could look to hijack a move for him.

Tottenham are hoping to sign the player this month and loan him back to Club Brugge until the end of the season. The deal is likely to cost around £26 million.

It will be interesting to see if Newcastle can swoop in and secure his services. The 18-year-old is a prodigious talent with a big future ahead of him, and he could prove to be a long-term investment for both English clubs.

Tottenham need to add more depth and quality in the wide areas. Nusa has the attributes to develop into a top class attacker, and he could prove to be an upgrade on players like Manor Solomon and Richarlison in the coming seasons.

Meanwhile, Newcastle need to add more quality to their attack as well. Miguel Almiron is expected to move to Saudi Arabia this month and the Magpies need a proper replacement. Nusa could be a long-term asset for them and Newcastle certainly have the financial means to get the deal done.

It will be interesting to see where the 18-year-old ends up eventually. A move to the Premier League will be an exciting step up for him and both clubs would represent an excellent opportunity.
