Robbie Keane, as the next Celtic manager, yes or no?

Former Republic of Ireland striker and one time Celtic loan star is among the names linked with the vacant Celtic managerial position.

Robbie was a superb player in his day, as we got to witness close hand for a short period towards the end of his playing days, and now he seems focused on making a name for himself in the dugout.

Forget the controversy over his career choices as he dipped his toes in the managerial world, do you reckon he’s a worthy candidate to replace Brendan Rodgers?

Robbie has a wealth of experience behind him having started his coaching career serving a short stint as player manager of Indian side ATK, before having coaching roles with the Republic of Ireland, Middlesbrough and Leeds.

The former Spurs man decided to be his own man as he made the controversial decision to take over Israeli side Maccabi Tel Aviv in 2023 winning the league title in his only year in charge before joining Hungarian side Ferencvaros at the beginning of the year, leading them to title glory in just a few months in charge.

Keane is still with the Hungarian side and boosts a decent win percentage of 58.70, whilst his success rate at Maccabi was an even more impressive 73.21.

It’s clear that Keane is an emerging coach with considerable potential, but is he the right man to replace Brendan Rodgers?

Does he have baggage that Celtic could do without regarding his time Israel that would make him a poor choice for Celtic as it would clearly cause disruption with many supporters including those in Ireland?
