Wrexham are eyeing a summer deal for Tottenham veteran Ben Davies

Tottenham Hotspur are already lacking behind in the transfer market as the season draws to an end. The Lilywhites managed to end the campaign on a high by winning the Europa League and ending the long-standing trophy drought at N17. Fans had hoped that winning the competition would be a good springboard for the North London club to kickstart a new era at Hotspur Way.

However, Spurs are yet to make a move in the market after being linked with several players. After ensuring Champions League qualification for next season, there was hope amongst the fanbase that the Lilywhites would be able to complete the deals for at least a few players to address the problems in the squad. But Daniel Levy is yet to make moves as time ticks over.

Along with buying players, Spurs must also ensure that they cash in on underperforming players. The Lilywhites have the chance to build on the Europa League success and selling players that are surplus to requirements would be a great start. Club stalwart Ben Davies is one of the players that is generating headlines due to his uncertain future at the club.

Ben Davies might swap Tottenham for Wrexham in the summer

Tottenham defender Ben Davies has seen all the ups and downs at N17. The Welshman managed to win his first major trophy donning the Lilywhite jersey last week as Spurs won the Europa League. Now, the 32-year-old has the perfect storyline for a prolific career at N17 after he became the current longest serving player in the squad this season.

It was reported earlier this week that Tottenham are all set to trigger the one-year extension in Ben Davies’ contract as the summer approaches. The Lilywhites believe that the Welshman still has a lot to give and he can provide good cover in the defence next season. Also, the 32-year-old is a big influence in the dressing room as well for all the young players.

But now it looks like the timing is right for Ben Davies to head for pastures new as Spurs look to start a new era at N17. As per Football Insider, Wrexham are interested in signing the experienced centre-back on a free transfer in the summer as they look to compete in the Championship next season. The Welshman is also open for a move as he is yearning for regular game time.
