A former Chelsea player has fired back at fans who have been going at a pending new Chelsea signing this week.

The Blues sign many players under the ownership and many will come, and many will go. They wont all make it here.

One player who hasn’t made it here is Diego Moreira, who barely even had a chance at Chelsea before being permanently shipped off to sister club Strasbourg. He is now playing alongside a pending new Chelsea signing, Emmanuel Emegha.

The striker has joined Chelsea and will arrive at the club in the summer of 2026. But until then, he will be seeing out the season at Strasbourg and continuing to captain them and lead the line in Ligue 1.

But the fans are unhappy with Emegha leaving Strasbourg and they have been voicing their opinion over the weekend with boos, chants, and banners against Emegha during their game.

Manager Liam Rosenior has come out and backed Emegha and asked the fans to accept that he is leaving and offering his support to the 22-year-old.

Moreira offers his support too

And as well as Rosenior, Moreira has also come out in support of Emegha and snapped back at the fans on his back.

“I find it a shame […] his first season here was difficult, but in his second, he showed the fans what he could do. The fans were very happy with him, too. It is also thanks to him that we qualified for the Europa Conference League. He played through injuries, too. He is a fighter,” said Moreira.

He continued, “I don’t know why they want him to leave straight away. Okay, he has signed for Chelsea, but he is still here; he fights for the team, and he is the club captain. You can’t go in on him.”
