Zlatan Ibrahimovic played for Manchester United in a stretch spanning from 2016-2018 as the forward strived for success at Old Trafford.

In his time at the club, the Swede scored 29 goals whilst also providing nine assists. He also won the Europa League, League Cup, and Community Shield in his time at United although these all came during the 2016/17 season.

After leaving Manchester United, Ibrahimovic joined LA Galaxy (making 58 appearances and scoring 53 goals) before spending the final stages of his career at AC Milan before retiring in 2023.

His post-playing career had seen him become a senior advisor at AC Milan where he worked closely in the club’s organisational activities, even with the role not meaning he was a part of Milan’s managerial staff.

Now, it appears that the forward has turned to the realm of football ownership with The Sun reporting that the forward is set to team-up with Tyson Fury to buy non-league side Morecambe FC.

The duo have previously been pictured together, creating confusion as it had appeared that the two were announcing a fight against each other.

The Sun now state that they were filming a World Cup advertisement for the upcoming tournament taking place in North America in just a matter of weeks.

Sources told The Sun, in relation to their proposed ownership bid, that “they were in Warsaw filming an advert for the World Cup.

“Tyson was talking to him about buying his local home town club Morecambe FC. They want to buy the club and make a Netflix documentary called Rise of Morecambe together.

“Just like Ryan Reynolds did with Wrexham. They both know what it takes to get to the top.

“They had a great time filming the ad. It was for the World Cup and Tyson’s food and drink brand Furocity was involved. Then they all went to dinner afterwards.

“Tyson and Zlatan have been great friends for years. Zlatan used to go to the gym with Tyson when he played for Man United.”

Morecambe have suffered at the hands of football ownership in recent years, seeing the club drop from League One to the National League North in a matter of just four seasons.

Jason Whittingham had previously owned the club before it was sold to Panjab Warriors last summer, a transition that barely saved the club.

It remains to be seen if Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Tyson Fury will move further on these reports although a decision may be made in the coming months.
