25-Foot Uluwatu: ‘Biggest Waves I’ve Ever Seen Here’ (Video)

The boys manage to paddle out amidst the unloading bombs, sneak into a few, and ultimately, just try and survive out there. Not many successful rides in conditions like this – just pulling into massive closeouts for the glory. And making it back to the beach in one piece.

As for their boards? Not so much. Zeke’s gun broke in three pieces.

“That was the biggest surf I’ve ever seen in Indonesia,” Zeke recapped, never shy of a little embellishment. “And it was the craziest session of my life. I didn’t get any, like, incredible rides or anything. But just to be out there was super special.”

The wave of the session went to Malibu, CA native, dual-sport surfer and skater, Shane Borland. See below for another angle on the monster keg.

“I took it on the head [that ’s the one that broke his board],” Zeke recounted, “and Shane-O packed the most insane barrel of all time. He pulled in on like a 20-footer. He sent it today, he was f*cking killing it.”

The reason why a crew of skaters were in Bali, and by chance, happened upon what Zeke deemed the biggest swell ever? The inaugural Keris Cup at Uluwatu Surf Villas. The crew was legendary – including Christian Hosoi, Christian Fletcher, Nathan Fletcher, Greyson Fletcher, Omar Hassan, Pedro Barros, Sky Brown, and others.

Guess who won? Shane Borland. (And Sky Brown). Not a bad week for Shane-O.
