Sad and sullen scenes out of Huntington Beach, CA on Tuesday morning.
Circulating on social media – through witness accounts, photos, and videos – two women allegedly attempted suicide by jumping off the end of the pier in Surf City, USA.
First responders, including lifeguards, were quick into action. Footage of the aftermath was posted to a dedicated Huntington Beach account; warning, graphic content here.
Video shows police vehicles, lights flashing, on the pier. Then, two bodies can be seen being paddled in on lifesaving surfboards by lifeguards. Later, fire and lifeguard personnel are shown tending to the victims, with lifesaving techniques.
Surfers were present in the water, on the southside of the pier, as the action unfolded.
Meanwhile in HB reported: “Tragedy this morning on the Huntington Beach pier. 12/16/25 at 9:30 am allegedly two women jumped from the pier. However, there’s been no confirmation, no official statement, released at press time.
A Santa Ana news outlet reported:
"Huntington Beach lifeguards located both individuals and brought them to shore, where immediate medical aid was provided. Both women were transported to a local hospital; their conditions are currently unknown.
"Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit immediately responded to the scene. The preliminary investigation indicates that both women jumped from the pier into the ocean."
This is a developing story.
