Dion Agius and Craig Anderson are trailblazers in the sport of surfing. And by sport, we mean art, as neither Agius nor Ando has ever touched a WSL jersey. It takes a special surfer to stay relevant for two decades without competing for a world title. That’s exactly what these two have done.

From dion.tv to multiple mag covers, movies, brands, and more, Agius and Ando’s influence on the surf world is wide ranging, and much more impactful than a world title or two. In fact, Agius was the surf world’s first blogger/vlogger, posting daily content on the internet as early as 2005, well before Instagram or YouTube was even a thing. Agius inspired a whole new generation of surfers to take their brand into their own hands. Without Dion, would there even be a Nate Florence or a Jamie O'Brien?

20 years on and Agius recently jumped on a trip with Ando to test a few new Haydenshapes models in the world’s most wave rich zone, where the pair (alongside Micky Clarke, Frankie Harrer, and others) elevated one another for 10 days straight. While this clip is long in run time (26 minutes), it’s rad to see Ando, Agius and the rest of the Haydenshapes crew trades waves and surfboards in dreamy Indonesia, sans sound and without much editing. Plus, with Craig Anderson helping to run his brand Former these days, we don’t get to see him surf as much as we’d like. And every time he stands up on a surfboard it’s a beautiful thing.
