Breaking news: waves (once again) are barreling in landlocked Texas.

In a new clip from the Austin Surf Club – a private surf community and luxury condominium development, bolstered by a Kelly Slater Wave Company-powered wave pool – the first glimpse at synthetic surfing in the Texas capital are revealed.

Take a peek below.

The clip offers little details about the project and its progress, a grand opening date, or anything of the like. Just a clip of a breaking wave, much akin to Slater’s other operations in Lemoore, California and Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.

Simply a caption, affirming that the project is up and running:

“Making waves in the heart of Texas. Introducing Austin Surf Club – where Kelly Slater’s innovative wave technology meets Discovery’s signature lifestyle.”

Particulars about the pool, which was formerly the site of NLand Surf Park, have been somewhat scarce. But previously, it was announced that A-listers like Matthew McConaughey, Drew Brees, and Tony Hawk had purchased properties at the development.

And before that, back in January of this year, an aerial image was leaked showing a dirt plot where the wave was supposed to go. Now, it appears they’ve done it. If the video above is to be taken literally, waves are now breaking at the Austin Surf Club.

As for an opening date? TBD.

For now, here’s more from Discovery Land Company, which is developing the property:

“In a groundbreaking partnership between Discovery Land Company and legendary surfer Kelly Slater, Austin Surf Club aims to redefine residential living by offering a 2,200 ft long surf basin equipped with state-of-the-art high-volume wave technology – a canvas for surfers of all ages and skill levels to perfect their craft. Indulge in farm-to-table dining experiences, and explore a world of well-being at the state-of-the-art spa, all within an innovative community that celebrates the essence of adventure and connection.”
