At 54 years old, Kelly Slater is going to be a dad…again.

After welcoming their son, Tao, in the summer of 2024, Slater and his partner Kalani Miller have revealed their adding another to their brood – this time, a girl.

See the announcement video below.

“Baby girl arriving Spring 2026,” Slater captioned the clip. It’s soundtracked to Stevie Wonder’s 1976 hit “Isn’t She Lovely,” a fitting choice since the song celebrates the birth of the singer’s own daughter, Aisha Morris. It shows Slater, Miller, and Tao on the beach in Hawaii, draped in black and white, smiling and laughing, caressing a rotund baby bump.

And, of course, praise from the surf world poured in:

“Congrats guys!!!! Going to be an epic next generation.” – Pat Gudauskas

“Congrats to you all.” – Mick Fanning

“Wow that’s the absolute best news!!! So happy for your growing family.” – Laura Enever

“Best chapter.” – Shane Dorian

During the World Surf League’s ultimate iteration of the Final Five format – held in September of last year at the famed wave of Cloudbreak, off the Fijian island of Tavarua – Slater and his family were in attendance as spectators.

While mingling on Tavarua Island Resort, post finals, Slater and Kalani spent their time lounging in the pool, playing with their young son named Tao. The name, by the way, comes from Chinese philosophy, meaning: “the absolute principle underlying the universe, combining within itself the principles of yin and yang and signifying the way, or code of behavior, that is in harmony with the natural order.”

It should also be noted that Slater has another child, a girl, named Taylor. She was born in 1996 to a former partner of the GOAT, Tamara.

As for this incoming tyke, any thoughts on the name?

Congrats to the happy couple.
