Leo Fioravanti’s Wedding Featured in Vogue Italia (Photos)

When it comes to holy matrimony, the sacred bond between two lovers, there are a few routes that couples can go: 1) a big, blowout wedding spending boatloads of cash, and inviting all your friends and their friends, too; 2) a modest ceremony with just family; or 3) the shotgun wedding, simply showing up at the courthouse and signing documents.

As for Leonardo Fioravanti, the Italian Stallion and Olympic surfer, he and his bride Sophia Wilson opted for door number one. A few weeks ago, Instagram feeds were filled with a who’s who of our niche little surf world, dressed to the nines, and showing the wedding between Leo and Sophia at an historic Italian castle outside of Rome.

Now, the wedding has received the coveted distinction of being featured in the (online) pages of Vogue (Italia). See the photos below.

The marriage was coordinated by Moments Lab, a “destination wedding planner” helmed by Giulia Zambon. And after the ceremony, and its feature in Vogue, Zambon said the “wedding was nothing short of unforgettable. A day where timeless elegance met pure joy, every moment reflected the beauty of their love. In the intramontable [sic] setting of Castello di Bracciano, history and romance embraced their celebration, creating an atmosphere that was as majestic as it was intimate.”

Castello di Bracciano, the venue, dates back to the Renaissance era, and was likely built during the same time that Michelangelo was hanging from the ceiling in the Vatican, painting the iconic Sistine Chapel. Prices for renting the venue were not readily available online, however, it’s undoubtedly not cheap.

As for the surfers in attendance, there were a handful. Jack Robinson went 007 in a classic black and white suit from BOSS. Cole Houshmand went all-black, with some gold jewelry accents. Benji Weatherley was tangled up in blue. Zeke Lau went casual, no tie. And WSL commentator Joe Turpel swapped his aloha tee, for a sleek talk-show host look.
